Episode Description
Don’t you love when life takes you on an unexpected journey?
In 2015, I attended a committee meeting of the women’s bar association in Colorado. Little did I know, it would start the journey to this podcast. In the inaugural episode, I’m discussing the journey that got me here and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
After moving from Atlanta to Denver, I was a new member of the bar. My practice was just a few months old, and I was looking to connect with other like-minded professionals.
As with everything we create, we pull from our own experiences to provide practical tools and tips that we know work because we’ve tried them all out. Here are the lessons we’ve learned so far (and are still learning) as lawyers trying to forge a new path in a traditional profession.
In this episode, I cover how the traditional archetype of a lawyer isn’t serving most of us, the moment I chose to build a different type of law practice, and what lessons I had to unlearn from law school.
If you were to ask me when I went to that bar meeting if I could believe that seven years later we would be sitting here on my own podcast, I would have thought you were crazy. But life has a funny way of working out when you trust your gut and go for what you want.
To hear more about my journey and the lessons I’ve learned so far, you can listen to the full episode wherever you get your podcasts.
